Hi Kurt,

don't be disappointed, have a little patience. I am sure that you will get comments soon by your nice yat. It is not my area of collecting so I let others do the first step!

Kurt,
That is a very nice yataghan, and very well preserved. I held off on translating it, since I don't know Turkish and the text is a bit far away. but here are what I can help you with:
2nd pic, Work of Sharif, Owner Mohammad Shukri, year 1257
3rd pic, 2nd line, (No man like Ali and no sword like Zulfeqaar) on the scabbard, 1257.
I hope that is helpful, get a close up picture of the text and someone should be able to help with the rest.
