Lambitan sword/bolo
Hello,
My father's Cristmas gift. A newly commissioned lambitan sword/bolo from Bukidnon, Mindanao. The blade has brass inlays. Brass decor (shield) on its scabbard. Handguard: engravings. Hilt/pommel: traditional 'bakunawa', with a combination of 'bone' brass. A high end piece (so the bladesmith told us). Enjoy Yves |

Nice sword Yves, and very good workmanship on the hilt and scabbard. Is the hilt mono steel or laminated? Can you provide the dimensions of the blade, please?

Lambitan sword/bolo
Hi Sir,
the blade (according to the bladesmith) is monosteel (leaf spring ). Water quenched. the hilt: is made from bone, brass and balayong/barayong hardwood. the scabbard's wood is also balayong/barayong. 27-inches: overall length 19.2 -inches blade Note: the bladesmith comes from the Higaonon-Umayamnon tribe of Bukidnon Regards Yves |

I remember seeing a neat lambitan with beautiful scabbard similar to this that was posted by "Salsalan ta Malaybalay", I wonder if this is the one I saw.
Anyway, very nice catch |

Hello,
If you're referring to the posted picture of blades by Salsalan, yes, it's actually the 2nd lambitan (from the right). Yves |
