Taiwanese Atayal headhunting Machetes for sale
Both of these are handforged Atayal style machetes from Taiwan. These used to be the prized possessions of tribesmen, used for survival and headhunting. In Atayal (dayan) they are often called lalau / laraw and this type, laraw behuw. Both are about 16 inches in blade length. Both have socket handles. Both made in Daxi, Taoyuan, Taiwan.
Top = $430 USD Large sized scabbard, with the large flare meant to be whittled away for fire starting fires, or for status where they'd attach the hair of beheaded enemies. Curved blade for heavy slicing cuts. Has been heavily used. Very high quality rattan binding on the socket handle. Bottom = $300 USD Straighter, chisel edged lalau with less of a forward heft to it. It has a very well hardened edge. Lightly used. Characteristic open faced sheath. Both combined cost $650 I'll ship to any country - just ensure you can lawfully receive and own this!
