"The Persian Shamshir and the Signature of Assad Allah"
Hi,
Does anyone here know where I could pick this great article up, last year, I contacted its author, Mr. Oliver Pinchot, and he said he would send me one, but the stupid postal service here in Kuwait (grrrrrr....) never delivers anything I would like to have it and read it, for it covers a topic Ive been very interested in lately. Im using a much more secure method of post now, and I think I would recieve it this time. Anyone know its price? Regards, Mark |

Hi Mark , the paper appeared in the magazine ARMS COLLECTING Vol. 40 No. 1
February 2002 . Unfortunately I can see no contact info for this magazine anywhere on its pages . Possibly Mr. Pinchot lurks here and will hear your plea or you could contact him again ; then there is always the used book seller route . I have a copy but I am loathe to part with it . With Mr. Pinchot's express permission I would photocopy it and send it out to you ; but only with his permission . Rick EDIT : Mark , contact these guys for a back issue . http://www.pec.on.ca/armscollecting/ |

Thanks alot Ward, is this the entire article?
EDIT: Stupid me, just opened it with ACDsee and found it was much more than one page. Once again, much thanks. Im quite lucky, I was just about to send my father's credit card details to Joyce, a saleswoman from the company which Rick thankfully sent me their link, to buy the magazine. What can I say, more money to save for "Arms and Armour of Arabia...." Last edited by M.carter; 1st May 2006 at 12:29 AM. |

I tried to buy some copies last year and when I wrote the arms collecting publisher at this address they were out of them. They also quit doing the journal in general after something like 40 years they told me. Anyway I do have copies of the shamshir article journals now if anyone needs one drop me an email. Photos are better in the hard copy.
