Pitted keris with seed pod hilt
Hi, Can anyone share info on this keris? The hilt seems to be a type of seed pod. Thanks!

banksia seed pods make cool knife handles, the pores can be cast with coloured resin. Not very old tho...

Hello David,
I don't think there is any relationship between these designs (aside from that oval hilts allow for a decent grip/push). The Sumatran sewar has a round hilt while the keris hilt exhibits faceting. Regards, Kai |
