Dagger ID Help Needed
Here is what I believe to be an Ilocano dagger from Luzon. It has some markings on the blade that I have never seen before. Grip is horn with brass fittings, inlay and I believe brass dots which can be seen in the last picture. It also has a bone piece fitted into the very end and held in place with a small brass pommel cap. I'm not certain that the scabbard is original to this dagger or if it is a later replacement. The only pictures I have are from the auction. I will post more when it arrives. Below are pictures of a knife that I have that I believe to be of the same origin with a very similar hilt. The fittings on the knife are brass with a silver inlay in the grip. All comments welcomed.

Robert, I would agree with Ilocano and the rest. I would place this piece at a relatively recent making like the last half of the 20th century made by a local custom knife maker (many around).

Jose,
Thank you for taking time to help me with this. I had never seen one of these with a stamping on it before. Too bad it is of such late manufacture. Thanks again. Robert |
