Default What is it?

Wonder if you could help me with this.
Not sure it fits, but There's so much knowlege here I thought I'd see if anyone could help.
Came by it years ago.
What is it?
I know what it looks like, but can't quite figure it out.
Problem is, the blade doesn't seem to have much temper, and never appears to have been finished properly,
Victorian copy?
It does show some age.
Thing is, most Victorian copies had shorter blades, and this one is right for what a rapier should be.
Here are the specs:

O/all length, 50"....................................127cm.
Blade length 41 1/4" .............................105cm
Blade width at hilt 1 1/16"...............................27mm
Blade thickness at hilt 3/16"............................... 5mm
Weight 2 lb 10 oz.............................1.2 kg
Balance point 2 3/4" from guard.................70mm

So, my wise friends, what do we have??

Hilt and blade both vicky, better than average work.

Thanks Ham,
I too thought Victorian, but can you give any particular points as to why it looks Victorian to you?

I don't know too much about this, but wondered about the copper 'brazing' on hilt,

Thing is, I'd like to sell this, But need to find out what it is first!

Thanks again!

Richard.

Would it be possible for someone to PM me with an approximate fair value?
Thank you for your time!

Richard.

My knowledge about these weapons is close to nothing, and I don't know if it is genuin, but to me it looks like a rapir from late 16th century or early 17th century. Anyone else?
