Default Moukhala question

Greetings friends. I have never had an opportunity to own a moukhala musket before, this one is highly patinated/corroded.

Supposedly it belonged to a Moroccan family who said it had come from a stash of similar moukhala found in a cave in Morocco years ago.

Any thoughts on the age of manufacture, and region of Morocco it may have come from? Any thoughts on it are welcome.

Also I’m hesitant to clean the patina off of it. Suggestions?

Thanks.
