Identification Problem: Saber
Hello there!
I appreciate any ideas on the origin of this following saber. It has been obviously shortened (Lenght: 65cm) and comes from the collection of a deceased Polish collector. The seller saw no markings, but I think I can see something on the crossguards inner side. I still expect it to be delivered to me. I have absolutely no clue. Thanks! |

I see a cut down 1907 bayonet blade with a ameteur made guard or modified guard. The exposed nut on the tang is not how edged weapons are finished in the pommel.

Hey Will, thanks for replying! I have looked for the mentioned bayonet and it looks very much like it. Any idea how the curvature has found it’s way on the final product?
Edit: this weapon looks kind of „home made“ to me. |

Don't discount it; it is not the worst or most bizarre theatre-made knife that I have seen.
