Hello Kisuke, welcome to the forum.

By convention on this board we refer to the short Indo-Malay dagger as "keris" and the larger Moro variant of the Philippines as "kris", for the sake of differentiation and clarity.

All I can say about your "kris" is that it's Moro and it's a very nice piece. From the long handle and the protrusion at the end, I can guess it once had a very large pommel carved as a stylized kokatua bird. I believe these types are called junggayan pommels. Other folks will correct me and narrow it down to the island and ethnic group that crafted it.
Search the forum for "moro kris" or just "kris" and you will find a lot of information and tips on cleaning and maintenance.

Regards,
Emanuel

Welcome to the forum, Kisuke!

Could you please post sharp pics of the base of the blade from both sides? I'd guess that this isn't a really old blade: possibly early 20th century?

Seems like a genuine, hand-forged piece though - good start of a Moro kris collection!

BTW, what's the length of the blade without hilt?

Regards,
Kai

The only thing that throws me is the hilt - it is a barong hilt, not a kris hilt....(still looking over the pictures).
