Default Ship Tureen Theory

I just picked this up and I have a theory about its possible origins & I would like another opinion(s).
I believe that this is a Chinese export piece to the Dutch known as Kraak Ware. This would date it 1602-1796, however, it certainly could be much later and possibly even modern; it has a signature, but since they aren't usually signed, that might not be a good thing. To my untrained eye, it looks really well done and how can you go wrong with a soup bowl painted with a Man o'war with cannons ready to fire.
