Smile Philippines large knife/short sword

An interesting Philippines short sword or large knife. The blade has a nice old patina, is slightly recurved, and seems to have been made from an old file or rasp. The blade is quite narrow, measuring its widest of one inch at the ricasso. The hilt is a cast white metal with two colored inserts that might be stone or plastic. There is an upturned guard, which once had a short chain linking it to the tri-lobed pommel. The scabbard is wooden with a brass throat and chape, and a pierced band of white metal wrapping its mid-section. The brass throat includes a belt loop.

Judging from the hilt, I think this one is a Visayan creation, possibly from Cebu.

Overall length in scabbard: 22 in.
Length of blade: 16 in.
Length of hilt 5.25 in.
