kilij ottoman PB with the blade
Dear All,
I bought this kilij. First, I think the scabbard doestn match well with the sword. Because the guard has been replaced... But my main question is why the blade is so shiny? I was thinking that the blades are mat and dark... Someone can help me to translate the inscription? Could you help me with this sword and the blade? I'm confused. Thanks Cheers |

What little can be seen from the photos suggests that the scabbard is replaced as well as the guard. The blade is Ottoman work but in European style, looks to have been polished or even plated. Notwithstanding, an Ottoman inscription is still visible.

Thanks!!
Yes I agree. It is plated. But the blade is very good. But is it common? For the date, end of 18th or end of 19th? |
