Default plea for identification of a long gun

Hello,
Please I wonder if identification of this gun based on the pictures of a lock (e.g. Manlicher, Mauser etc ?) and approximate time period of production would be possible. Unfortumately, I don´t have ather pictures. All the moutings on the gunstock are made of brass.

This is a French M 1866 cavalry carbine system Chassepot, manufactured in the "Manufacture Impériale de St. Etienne" in 1871, transferred 1877 into a M 1866/74 for use of blackpowder metal cartridges

Thank you very much corrado26. The final destination of this gun was Menelik´s armoury in Ethiopia.
