Default french hussar sword

hi chaps. just come back from a small french auction and was able to pick up two french hussar sabres, one must be an officers as the scabbard as some nice medal work to it and the blade as a little blue and gold remaining, the other is a troopers sabre, what i would like to know is the date, i think 1785 to 1801. but am i correct, michael
