Default Old chest with carved torch. coat of arms or army regiment emblem ?

I have this old chest made of walnut wood with a large look and key
Must come from Germany or maybe France.
Massive structure, my wife would that I throw it away but I l'île it.

Has someone already seen this ''torch'' symbol ??
Looks like a coat of arms or an army regiment emblem .

Glad if someone can help.

Kind regards

I can't help you with the torch symbolism, but you'd have to be crazy to simply throw that chest away. LOL!

Hello David, No, that’s for sure! 🙃
thank you for your message,
clearly we are in the contrast between the modern woman who wants everything to be clean, zen and bright at home and me who tends to collect everything, repair and then store.
A ''slight'' Diogenes syndrome...😁😅
