Default Ottoman officers shaska???

Hi, do you know what this is? It is of small size but good construction, the scabbard is chased and gild over silver. Has a suspension loop. Lather has spiral work like the typical turkish swords.
Any ideas?

Considering how the fullers run off the end off the blade, I'd say this was a cut down(by breakage or desire to customize) sword blade remounted for use as a secondary weapon.

Just a guess.

That may explain why the suspension ring holder has been placed on the hilt.
