Default Please help id this slasher

Hello,

I need help identifying this old slasher that I inherited from my father. It is rather crudely made, has a stamp shaped like a 5 on its blade and a handle roughly reminding of a large cat. Do you have any ideas about its origin?

Best

Thomas

The pommel appears to represent a civet (musang in Malay and Filipino). The knife is likely from northern Luzon where it is an agricultural tool used for clearing brush. Its form is similar to a tabas but I don't know the local name. Can you provide some dimensions please.

But of course, Ian, thank you a lot for your answer!

It is 60cm in total and 10cm wide at the top of the blade.
