Various African swords for sale
Cleaning out the pile of things not on display. Always willing to listen to offers. As always email me at iain.norman@gmail.com and for more pictures. Items ship from Czech Republic with normal parcel post. Had no problems in the past shipping all around Europe and to the US/Canada.
1. Lobi takouba. Massively ceremonial sword. Very large pommel. Note that sheet steel used on the back of the guard has some latin characters, this would indicate probably early 20th century. Guard is loose, but not uncommon on these brass takouba. Impressive piece from an unusual tribal group. Asking for 230 Euro/$330, this was field collected by the previous owner which is why the tribal grouping is pinned down so precisely. 2. Old nimcha blade and guard. I'd planned to restore this one myself but never got around to it. This is an older style than usually seen and probably an 18th century Italian export blade. Looking for 140 Euro/$200. 3. Takouba, nice wide blade. Probably early 20th century all native work. 180/$260 Euro would take it. 4. Very old European bladed takouba in a Tuareg "sandwich" mount. Not the usual trade blade pattern. This is a rare one, but I'm slowly getting out of Tuareg pieces and into other things. 345 Euro/$500. |

4 (the European bladed takouba) is sold!
I have one more I can offer here as well. 5. A rare Manding takouba with excellent and very unique scabbard. Please not the blade does have a flaw (crack) towards the tip. As this one is rather unique I would like to get 185 Euro or $265 USD. |

The first three swords from the beginning of this thread (lobi takouba, nimcha, wide bladed takouba) and the last (Manding takouba) are still available. I'm willing to consider all reasonable offers.
