It certainly looks cut down or reformed. It is in the same form of short swords from Nigeria/Cameroon areas. The tabuka is widespread and many Cameroon forms can be found.

I remember when this sold. Interesting to see it appear here.
This looks cut down to me. Unfortunate as the blade seems to be an older one. There's sadly little way to determine where and when the modification was done but as Tim points out, there is a superficial resemblance to some Cameroon and Nigerian short sword forms. |
