Default Watterbury Button Co

I have a random question. Does anyone know anything about buttons? This is an old button from a trash deposit of a cabin that burned in the early 1950's. It some sort of US military pattern button or a patten modeled after them, but I cannot seem to narrow down what it is. My best guesses are WWI field artillery, WWII Intelligence, or 1930's Army Airman's uniform. The long shot is an honorary Airman's Uniform.

Any help or insights would be appreciated.
Thanks

Pretty sure that is WWII and not specific to just one group of U.S. Army services.
