Default New here

Hi, I'm new. I like African ethnic weapons and tools but anything of age I like and like to learn the difference between genuine and forgery/copy. I recently came across these and was wondering what it was.

Hi, welcome to the forums. These are modern productions of kindjal or qama. Compare with these, for example:

http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2728
http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2209
http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=28035

(You can find many more examples using the search feature on this board, I just grabbed some at random.)

As an aside, please use the upload feature to post pictures here, to avoid future dead links (when posting, click manage attachments; this will open a new window; select your files and click upload; then wait for the files to appear in the window you are writing your post in before closing the upload window).

It should be noted, though, that there are some knives with a north African association with hilts that look like they are derived from a common ancestor. For example, see several examples in this thread:
