Default Old Metal Stirrup?

I don't know much about this type of thing. It was for sale as part of the estate of a well traveled gentleman. Can anyone help me age, location, type of use, scarcity, etc? TIA.

Don't Spanish stirups tend to be closed ended and boot or shoe shaped to some degree?

That would be only one specific version, i would say. You may browse de Web and watch.

PS
Yet you are right; this one appears to be Ottoman, for the case .

Wink ... And by the way

Versions with the front closed were also seen in Portuguese stirrups, and still are used nowadays.
Cross culture between both (Iberian) countries and versions timeline to be considered.
