Frankish swprd
Hallo friends
my good friend would like to make early medieval sword for his late frank project. He would like sword for west Europe in 9. c. usable also for scandinavien region. I am thinking about any K type , or H type. Do you know, what is this sword? Or which museum is from? Sidney I have feeling, that it is 9. c. sword. |

Do you mean Torbla Ulwik? It is open question. I have discussed about this sword with Patrik / this smith is from my city/ nad according to Patrik sources it is 9. c., according to Petersen is rather 10. c.
I have found today similar sword type K from 9.c. from Norway, which is similar to sword from photo. Without adornment. I will display it here in Monday. But I would like to see detail of adornment, measurments, shapes, and other. So I search for origin and storage place of this sword from photo. Like in case of my planned broa sword. It is funny. This planned sword will be order in Patrik Bárta workshop. Sidney |

Located!
I stumbled upon a picture of these swords on the website of the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nürnberg - use the timeline slider to navigate to 1000 AD and click on the thumbnail of the swords.
