Two Moro Kris Added to the Collection
I recently found these two Moro Kris and was excited to bring them to a their new home. No cleanup or restoration yet but will post once those are completed.

I’ve seen the 5 waved one recently. Are they both from the same seller?
The wavy blade could be Sulu. Scabbard looks Mindanao. Large piece of ivory on the other. Congrats. They’re both very nice. Thanks for sharing. |

No they were from different owners. The 5 wave had been for sale on eBay several times. The asking price was always more than twice what I believed it’s current value and the seller had never sold on eBay so it was a little bit questionable. In the end the price was “fair” and the seller delivered the Kris without issue. I was thrilled!

Regarding the (very nice) twistcore kris I suppose that such blades could be early Maguindanao ones. Of course the "elephants trunk" looks Suluish, the rest is in many features close to my example
