Default Thirty Years' War

Can anyone recommend a good book on this subject? I've already read Wedgwood's and Parker's books. I was looking for something with a narrative that's a little more colorful.

I find Wallenstein to be a pretty fascinating figure.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Queequeg,

To me, the most comprehensive and best illustrated work on the Thirty Year War - and other Imperial Wars from ca. 1479-1719 - still is

http://www.amazon.de/kaiserlichen-Kr...6992643&sr=1-7

Unfortunately, I guess there is only a German version but the illustrations and dates assigned speak for themselves.

Apart from that, I posted several threads on Thirty Years War muskets and accouterments here.

Best,
Michael
