Shibriya, I think. for comment?
Hi all
Just picked up the attached knife Blade is just under seven inches and of reasonable quality Some rough grinding marks towards the handle so it was never made to look good Quiet sharp and has the look of a working blade Handle is wood and very comfortable in hand, black coloured wood, looks as if part near the pommel has chipped off Scabbard has tooled design on one side and is fine leather covering wooden core I am assuming it is a working Shibriya from Israel, Syria Is there anything anyone can add or correct with my assumptions The handle is unlike anything I could find on the forum Any opinion on age Picked knife up in a local auction so no story attached Any additional pictures can be supplied Regards to all Ken |

I agree with Kubur - a broken Beja dagger from the region of Ethiopia and Eritrea.
