Right, companero,
That royal guy sure had an exquisite taste ... As a sample of his taste I attach photos of the earliest and finest known flintlock gun in the world which was made for the prince by a member of the le Bourgeoys family in Lisieux in about 1615-20. It came from the famous William Goodwin Renwick Collection, Tucson, Arizona, who had purchased it directly from the Hermitage Museum St. Petersburg, Russia, during the big depression in the 1920's, and was sold posthumously Sotheby's London, Nov 21st, 1972. It has been on display at the Met, N.Y., ever since. Michael Last edited by Matchlock; 13th March 2009 at 01:19 PM. |

Ah, you can tell that Met museum curator that, if they ever feel 'depressed' with it, i will be glad to relief it from them .
Will even care to have a cabinet made for keeping it . Fernando |
