Default A scepter ?

Anybody know what this could be ? There are ID (?) numbers stamped on it. The elephant is screwed and removable and Schr....-lines visible on the cut surface of the longer part

I can't help with the use of this piece, but it looks as though the elephant is rather more recent than the shaft.

Of course, appearances can be deceiving.
