Default Damascus Blade

This is definitely a Damascus steel blade, pattern welded, in the pattern known as Turkish ribbon. It is clearly seen on the fifth photo from top. However the blade has seen better days and I wonder if it will be possible to polish and etch it so as to bring out the pattern.

Nice blade.

Thank you very much. As the pictures are the only clues I have , I couldnt determine. Offered in a local auction site. So, I can bid accordingly.
