Default T'BOLI KAMPILAN 3

Hello friends,

Sharing a T'boli kampilan with a scabbard meant for a Visayan tenegre/talibong. I really don't know how this actually happened but in all probability, since some of them (Tboli and Visayan people) live near each other in a T'boli domain/territory and so when the original scabbard was lost/broken, the owner would have taken to use a Visayan scabbard.

Enjoy

Yves

Sounds plausible to me. A marriage of convenience between sword and scabbard.

Does happen. I noticed that nice rare large talismanic bell on the hilt.

Yes. Could be a "tiger bell." Hard to say from the pictures.

Here are some pics of the bell (complete with the clapper).

Default Blaan bell

This type of bell is commonly found amongst the Blaan. Very old and no longer crafted. The photo attached was taken during a visit with the Blaan near Malungon in April 2016.

Actually this type of bell is not considered a tiger bell because the tiger bell has a "face" on it with eyes and a big mouth for an opening.

Yup. Definitely not a tiger bell. The later pictures from Yves show that it is indeed a B'laan bell, as noted by Marbel.
