Default Breast plate cuirasse information please

I have a substantial steel breast plate which I assumed was probably from a 19th C. British cavalry regiment. I've been looking online at similar examples, both British and Continental and am now not sure. I'd be grateful for any input from anyone who may be able help.

Thanks Ken, I've been all over it but it is rather patinated, the only thing I can see is an unprecise stamped letter at the inside top right.

Mel.

Photo attached, First thought is a Broad arrow, but I'm not convinced that an arrow could be so badly mis-stamped , it could be a '1' or a poor 'K'

May be it is this French M 1804 cuirass? At least the number of the rivets seems to be correct!

Maybe a poor "K", yes; only sort of a control mark, not the smith's signature ... i would say.

Could the poor 'K' be Klingenthal?

Shouldn't that be a more stylized K.
... And shouldn't inspector marks be present ?
