For sale: Two Antique Chisa katanas
Having to sell a lot of swords due to being an unemployed bum.
Up for sale are two chisa katana, please scroll down for chisa number 2. Free postage within the UK but will post internationally. Returns accepted. The first chisa comes with a rebellion tsuka, habaki and a very old iron tsuba. The nagasa is 57cm / 22.5 inches long. The blae is healthy and is almost shobu in apparence. The blades surfance has become slightly mottled with light surface rust but on some sections of the blade you can see the hamon, which is a highly elaborate Choji . The blade width at the hamachi is exactly 3cm. The blade width at the yokote is 2.4cm The blade has a number of small chips. None of which are fatal. The Mune is Ihori. The nakago is unsigned, Shiribari with a Kiri tip, though in my opinion this is not a cutdown. The Yasurime is Kiri. In my opinon this is a merchants blade that would look fantastic with a full polish exposing the hamon. The price im looking for this is around £450 Photos: http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...unsword006.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...m/DSC_2366.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...m/DSC_2374.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...m/chisa025.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...m/chisa026.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...m/DSC_2369.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...m/DSC_2364.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...m/DSC_2356.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...m/DSC_2353.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...m/DSC_2354.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...mage090004.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...mage090005.jpg --------------------------------------------------------------------- The second chisa is what I belive to be a cutdown. The nagasa is 54cm, the width at the hamachi is 2.3cm and at the yokote 1.9/2cm. The nakago is 16cm futsu, kuri-jiri tip and kiri-sujikari yasurime. The hamon is just about visible and is extremely thin near the hamachi. This sword comes with a poorly built saya and tsuka, while both fit very well and do their job, I belive they are made from poor wood and the saya does not have a kurikata. The tsuba is well made with bonsi trees but looks like it has been very poorly cleaned removing the patina in some places. The habaki is wellformed. The blade is in a sorry state, while only having 2 small chips the blade has been poorly polished and has an opening in the blade. Because of all this I am looking for around £250 for the lot.
