Gana hilt
I want to share my first Gana hilt with you. It would be nice to see other gana hilts from your collections.

I just rediscovered this interesting thread initiated by Detlef.
Let's try to revive it and I hope others will post their Gana-hilts here too. Michael |

Dear all,
Here 2 from my collection. The one with the blue background is said to be made from horn, for a GANA that is peculiair? |

These gana hilts from South Sumatra look quite standardized, except the ones from Michael.
I own one made from horn and in a different style, but not originally designed for a kris as the cross section is oval and the peksi hole has a rectangular shape. And I also show a more natural javanese gana hilt made from ebony. Regards |

Very expressive piece! This one seems to be fitted on a Madurese kris, do you know if these gana hilts are found elsewhere than Java and (South?) Sumatra? Regards |
