This is terrible! Does this mean Matchlock will not be contributing to the forum for a while? Is there anything that can be done? I'm serious, the guy is amazing. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Hello all,

I'm sort of back again - thanks a lot for caring, and ringing me up!
I had a computer crash and the email program is not working but by mid next week everything should work out alright.

Got a whole lot of personal stuff to get through as well which will absorb quite a lot of my time.

So thank you all,
And best,
Michael

This Tuesday my Wife Chris and I visited Matchlock at his home. We probably not met him at his best health but definitively at his best mood.

For both of us it was a great pleasure and honour to meet you Michael. We really enjoyed the hours with you and we hope our visit will help you a little bit on your hard way to recover of your health.

All the best to you - and we hope to meet you next year

Thank you all my friends,

This is exactly the kind of support I need the most now!

To finally be able and welcome Chris and you at my humble home was a great relief to me, as well as an honor.
From various emails, from your web site and numerous hints to period artwork in digitalized codices I would never had detected without you I was keen to get to know the two of you personally.

Nevertheless, your profound and comprehensive knowlegde, expertise and deep-felt understanding of all Medieval related objects, as well as of the Medieval and Early Renaissance stylistic and characteristic criteria found with all kinds of period artwork alike much impressed an old man like me.

I am very grateful you have been here and we will keep in close touch forever!

And do post some photos soon!

Best wishes to Chris and you,

Michael

Spectacular! But Michael does need to get some of those red velvet ropes put up like other museums!
