African sword for ID and comment

I just bought this sword for pretty cheap. The guy I bought it from said it was Yoruba, it does look west african to me. I would love know what you guys think about it.

Interesting sword - looks a bit like a cross between a sword and a machete.

I've seen a similar type of wooden hilt on swords from Sierra Leone - Mende ?
