Indo/Persian Tamacha/Tamancha Matchlock Pistol
I am very pleased to introduce this rare, and beautiful little matchlock pistol. Barrel is 9 1/4", with the entire length being 24". Bore is a tad bigger than .50 caliber. No provision for a pan cover. I assume the vent prick served that purpose. Found this at the Ark-La-Tex gun show, and am very proud of it. Seller, who is very knowledgeable, guestimates the age at late 18th, early 19th century. I will study the metal work, and fashion an appropriate rammer. Sorry about the shadows. The sun would not cooperate.

very nice unusual matchlock,my first thought was that it had been reduced but the barrel says otherwise, ive handled quite a few of these bigger of course, but date seems 18th/19th century for sure, really like the brass flowers, and bone or ivory inlays nice find well done

Thanks Napoleon. These don't present themselves, very often. The inlays look to be ivory, as they have a distinct grain to them.
