You are right!! The dreamy-eyed Adonis is sporting a real Ordynka!
The slightly off-line pommel, the "butterfly" scabbard ring plates and the short quillons are identical. Did this sword come from Lvov (Lvuv, Lemberg, Lviv), from the Crimea (Crimean Khanate was one of the origins of Polish-Lithuanian Tatars), or was it local?
Another day, another mystery.....

Did not know that chain maille was being made like this on a for sale basis. Very labor intensive. I'm working on making chain maille now for my Moro armour and it is not cost effective. I guess cost of labor is quite low over there.

I know couple of other people but they mostly work with a mechanical damascus.

Rivkin,

Some of the images you've posted above are from Astvatsaturyan, don't recognize the others however. Can you cite the books from which the others came-- i.e. those of the 2 djigits?

Thanks,

Ham

Good looking pieces of armour. Its nice to know that there are modern armourers out there who make authentic looking Oriental/Eastern European armours as well as the usual Western European stuff. The Kulah Khud style helmet looks particularly nice.

Thanks also for the photos and paintings.

Hmm, I specifically chose the ones, that _do_ not appear in Astvatsaturjan (all of them). I'm surprised I missed some.

They are from the catalogue of Russian State History museum, well most of them.
The painting I think is a part of Gagarin's cycle (he made pictures of all "caucasian" types).
