New sword
Just got it. The seller brought it from Nepal, where it was stored close to the chimney.
It is obviously a Nepalese one with the original scabbard. But the blade is a Sossun Pattah! It cannot be a re-made Kukri or a Kora because the scabbard fits it like a glove, there is no "cho" and the point is intact. So... We have here a third variety of Sossun Pattah: the Rajput (Hindu), the Mughal (Islamic) occasionally known as Sailaba and a third one, Nepalese. BTW, should I polish it or would you leave it patinated? |
