Default Question about Chinese characters in a Barung blades!

Hi all,

Is there anybody who has information about chinese characters in barung blades, based on info which is coming from old books?
When searching the forum database I could only find suggestions.
I want to find out more about these blades.

Ofcourse suggestions and discussion are also appreciated.
But post a passage of an old book about it, would be perfect!

Regards,
Maurice

Maurice

I had one of these barongs years ago and had a friend translate the characters it basically refered to a store or shop but it really made little sense to my friend. So basically they are trade marks from the maker or supplier.

Thanks Lew,

I heard it several times allready from other collectors who tried, that those characters made little to no sense when translated..

Typically the Chinese made blades are of very good quality...at least the 5 or 6 I have seen.
