Default Bichwa for comments please

Hi

I got this bichwa in a bundle with some Keris. I‘m a little bit ( positive) surprised. Looks that It will make sense to etch it a little bit softly. What do you think.

Best Thomas

Hello,
Interesting model with a nice hilt !!
a small model, maybe made for a child/girl ?

It seems there is a pattern on the blade ( wootz ??)
A really nice surprise !

It is 33 cm long. Ok too small for my hands, but I‘m nearly 2 m. I think it will fit to a smaller adult. Picture of the structure is better original.

Very nice example! And yes, it may be wootz.

But it is a full size.

Many Indian weapons have very small hilts because many Indians have very small hands. And this was even more so the case in the past.

I love the blade especially, indeed seems wootz but even if it weren't it's lines and shape are very elegant.

At the same time I also wonder, could it have been another dagger before and rehilted this way? What triggers this idea is that the "shoulders" or base of the blade is wider than the handle, sticking out on both sides with sharp 90 degree corners. On the examples I see on the web blades flow into the handle same width (or very close to it).

Kind regards,
Eric.
