Nice knife, but ...
Hi Valjhun:
I'm thinking the blade has some age but the hilt is a recent replacement. If you look at the pictures in the book, you will see that the curls on the handle adjacent to the blade are wider than the blade itself. The knife on top of the book has a hilt that is a little narrower than the blade. I think that hilt was made for another knife and ended up on this one. The condition of the hilt makes me think it is probably of relatively recent manufacture. Not a particularly good marriage of blade and hilt IMO. Ian. |

Thank you Ian! I agree with you. When I saw it I noticed that something was very strange about it, but for some reason I couldn't tell what. It is so obvious. Yes I also think that it is a recent marriage....
As a matter of fact, wich book is that? |

If you look at the blade as it enters the 'new' handle there is a 'tide mark' ....perhaps where the original handle ended?
The question is ..was the knife made to look like the one in the book? |
