Burmese ? Spear
Was asked to post photos of the spear in my Avatar 12 years ago, only just read the message as I'm one of those lurking readers who never logs in, so sorry in advance for the delay.
I did try to get this ID 12 years ago and the opinion was it was Burmese due to the style of engraving. Photos are 12 years old so sorry about quailty, but I will try to take some more modern photos if there is interest in seeing them. Last edited by stenoyab; 9th January 2016 at 08:43 PM. |

Lovely spearhead Stenoyab! 100% Burmese based upon the Koftgari wire inlaid and the dress of the two figures and the blade style. Looking forward to see additional photos. Thanks for sharing!

Heres a few more photos, the entire length of the spear head is 385mm, the blade is 165mm by 33mm and of a 4 sided diamond cross section.
The wooden shaft is of a very dense brown hard wood, thats been dyed black, and is 8 sided in form. |
