I don't know why and it's just a gut feeling but I think it is something related to cooking/eating. Again I have nothing to base this on but a gut feeling. (pun somewhat intended)

I can confirm this is indeed a game board, I have one which folds and has game pieces in an incorporated box. Mine came from Nepal, there the game is called Bagha Chal, (Tiger moving). It is said to be the national board game of Nepal. One player has 4 tiger pieces that are placed on the corners of the board, the second player has 20 goat pieces. The tiger moves are a bit like draughts, the goats move to surround the tigers.

Hi David,
Have taken the liberty to re post this link as the one in your post does not seem to work (at least for me)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bagh-Chal

Hello David, Hello Kahnjar,

Thanks a lot !

Sorry for my late answer, I didn't check the site these last days...

Nice to discover the Bagh Chal game !
Sadly there is no more brass pieces for goats and tigers,
I will use small marbles / 2 colors...)

I saw the same game plate with tigers and goat on each side of the plate,
I wonder if it exist the same game with dragons and birds/phoenix ?

Kind regards and A BIG THANK YOU !!

As a suggestion, have a look in a kids toy store for small toy animals.....tigers and goats.....with a coat of bronze/brass paint, or even left as found, they would look better than marbles. Just my opinion........
