THE FIRST HORSE HAIR MACE YOU POSTED DOES APPEAR TO HAVE USED HORSE HAIR. A CLOSEUP OF THE DECORATIVE FABRIC PATTERNS AND THE BUTT OF THE ITEM MAY HELP IDENTIFY ITS ORIGINS. IF IT WAS A STANDARD THAT WAS CUT OFF IT SHOULD BE EVIDENT BY LOOKING AT THE BUTT END. I SEEM TO HAVE SEEN WOVEN FABRIC SIMULAR TO YOURS SOMEWHERE.
THE HAIR ON THE SECOND ITEM DOSEN'T APPEAR TO BE HORSE HAIR PERHAPS IT IS BOAR HAIR WHICH IS VERY COARSE AND BRISTELY. THE BONE COULD ALSO BE FROM A LARGE BOAR PERHAPS FROM GERMANY AS THEY ARE LARGE AND FIERCE AND HUNTED THERE FOR SPORT AND TROPHYS. OF COURSE HUMAN BONE SOUNDS MORE INTERESTING AND IF THAT WERE THE CASE PERHAPS THE HAIR IS HUMAN ALSO.

JUST TWO GUESSES AND A SUGGESTION

Vandoo what do you think regarding the decorations on the head. Do they resemble a European or Persian style?

Thanks,
Aleks
