Default Translations

As would be expected on an ethnographic forum, there are perpetually queries posted for translations on items. Naturally, we are fortunate to have a dynamic core of linguists and speakers of many languages, and it is always great to have thier most helpful assistance.

I think it would be advantageous if instead of a closeup of the inscription alone, the entire weapon would be shown. With the weapon, and subsequent translation shown, it is shown in context and perhaps the rest of us can learn a little something on the weapon and better, the type group.

Please show the entire weapon, then focus on the inscription to be translated...that would apply to other items which seem to be entering the scope as well.

Much appreciated, thank you,
Jim

Well said Jim.

Most translation postings have had this question asked. Perhaps this thread should become a sticky.... it is a worthy point and something that will help the community as a whole....
