Although it is partially erased, I can guess the first three lines of the first inscription because it is a well-known verse from the Quran-i Kerim.
"nasrun mina Allahi wafathun qarreebun wabashshiri almu/mineena" (as-saff: 13) (help from Allah and a victory near at hand; and give good news to the believers) For the second inscription, I can only make out the second name of the swordmaker: "Ali". The first name might be "Yahya" but I'm not sure. The owner is Alemdar Suleyman (apparently a janissary, since "alemdar" is a mid-rank for janissary officers) |
