Default Mentawai shield kurabit for sharing

I was able to acquire this shield from the Mentawai island, called kurabit.

Not as colourful as 19th century pieces but with a very nice patination overall. I guess that it's from the middle of the 20th century and a dance shield.
The ornamentation in front is classic, compare, "Traditional Weapons Of The Indonesian Archipelago", page 76/77 & "War Art & Ritual" Volume 1, page 128-131 as well "Shields From the Collections of the Barbier-Mueller Museum", page 148/149. Some very nice examples can be seen here: https://www.artoftheancestors.com/mentawai

The shield is 102 cm high and 35 cm broad.
