The writing on your GURADE (NOT a SHOTEL) is in Ge'ez from the Ethiopian Bible and it reads Y TI YO PI YA: TE BE TSE HE: I DE WI HA: BE I GHE ZEE
E BI HE R::. which translate as ETHIOPIA RAISES HER HANDS TO GOD. The CROWN stamp has no particular significance, The blade was IMPORTED by M. KEVORKOFF & Co. of Harar. Sometimes, the initials MK in a circle are found stamped on the ricasso. |
