Thanks all, well I bought the mask in question, here it is
I have yet to pick it up from auction house, it is straw based with mud and shells making up the overall form and pattern. I find it esthetically very nice but no idea where it is from I viewed it in person and while light it is well made and I do not think it is modern tourist piece. I was bid up by a few people so others saw something in it also. Any information greatly received, Regards Ken |

Second thought is that while not necessarily a sign of being a tourist piece, this mask doesn't seem to show any areas of wear that would give the impression that it had ever been danced. It doesn't seem new, but i don't believe it is very old. Vintage at best i would say. This mask give me more an impression of South Seas or Southeast Asia than Africa. |

Thanks David for your considered response. I will revert back if I find anything, it has the feel and smell of something old and I like the form so its a keeper for the moment
Keep well Ken |
